Karaoke in the City

I know I always say how I don’t have a lot of free time, but it’s so true. So when I do get an off day, it’s so important for me to have fun. My parents have been visiting me a lot, especially because it’s my last time ever playing softball. This past weekend I got to have Sunday off and spend the day in New York with my mom and her best friend, who is basically like my aunt.

We made our way to Chelsea Market where we indulged in red wine, olives, and steak tartar–I sound so bougie. Honestly, that was the second time I ate steak tartar that weekend and I was super stoked about it.

After we enjoyed our glasses of wine probably around 12:30 pm because it’s 5 O’Clock somewhere. We decided to do a little shopping but Patricia, my mom’s best friend, wanted to stop to find some happy hour deals. We ended up stopping at this karaoke bar because they had $4 sake bombs. It ended up being hilarious watching my mom sing Billie Jean and her not hitting a single note. Sometimes it’s the spur of the moment activities that end up being the highlight of the day.

National Beer Day!

I’ve never been much of much of a beer drinker, but my absolute favorite is Hefeweiss. I don’t know what it is about the beer, but it just tastes so good. No other beer does the job quite as well.

I don’t get a lot of free time, especially with my softball schedule at the moment. I finally had a night “off” so my roommate and I decided to meet two of our best friends for dinner at the Zeppelin Hall Biergarten in downtown Jersey City.  It was nice to catch up and get a couple laughs in before we had to call it a night.

When we first got there, we were carded at the door and it was only 6:45 pm. The bartender didn’t greet us with a lot of urgency, but regardless we got our beer. They stop feeding people at the bar at 7:00pm so we had to move our way into the dining room.

You have to order the food in the window and wait until the pager buzzes to pick up your food. Candice and I decided to share the chicken schnitzel and the spaetzel and onions. It was so tasty and worth the $27.

If you ever get the chance, definitely check out the Biergarten. They had a nice selection of beer and the food was delicious and very filling.

Get Ready With Us!

My friend Candice and I are always getting ready together, especially for the night out on the town. Every time we get ready, Candice begs me to do her eyebrows because she “can’t do them as good” as me. We always have fun when we get ready together so I thought I’d make a quick video of us doing exactly that!

Enjoy!
